Hi GUys

I've read the iphone.unlock.no web site, and I'm a little confused.. blink.gif
My current iphone modem version is 04.01.13_G, and firmware version is 1.0.2 (1c28)
I want to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.2 (or the latest) however, the directions on the web site only refer to EITHER having the correct modem version OR firmware version, not both. eek.gif

I'm afraid to lock the phone, so are there any guides for my situation?

cheers

if you are a beginner your best bet is to upgrage to 1.1.1 only, you can do this from your current situation with 1.0.2 and 4.1.13 provided your baseband is good. you can check that by comparing your IMEI number on the box to the one in your phone settings menu

if you IMEI number is corrupt (0049) use The Virginizer available for this sites source then follow the upgrade instuctions here

thanks teslar..
my IMEI number starts with 0113 and ends with 4526.
there are two version of the 'virginiser' in my sources on my phone, which would should I chose?
Also...

I would like to follow these instructions "http://iphone.unlock.no/#how-to-virginize-easily" however, the instructions state that the modem firmware version is 03.14.08_G. which is what I don't have. I have 04.01.13_G.

what is the BSD sub system? I can't find this under the system category on my phone, even after refreshing the sources.

so after I have 'virginised' the phone, can I then update the firmware through itunes? or do I restore the the phone (to upgarde the version to 1.1.1 in itunes first, and THEN run this virginiser tool?

thanks Fredrik, BSD was under un-install.
Next steps..

1. I will install the virginiser..
2. I will connect the phone to itunes, and install the upgrade (1.1.2).
3. I will complete the following steps:

Unlock the SIM-lock
Open installer, and install the update if prompted.
Go to sources and tap Edit and Add
Add this URL: http://i.unlock.no
Tap Done and then Refresh
Go to Install (at bottom) and scroll down to the Unlocking Tools category and install AnySIM
When installed you can press the home button, and you will find a new AnySIM icon on your home screen. Launch it and follow the instructions.
The unlocking process will take about 5-10 minutes, in the end it should say it was successful!
To clean up your phone, launch Installer and uninstall AnySIM. Then go to Settings → General → Auto-Lock and set it to a prefered value.

And then it's all done???

Let me know before I brick the phone smile.gif

No, you can't just upgrade to 1.1.2. If i were you i wouldn't bother about 1.1.2 - just go for 1.1.1 it's much easier, and soon 1.1.3 will be released anyway.

I haven't written any tutorials for upgrading/unlocking 1.1.2, if you need detailed helpa about that you must find one on google.

Basicly you need to install 1.1.1 first and jailbreak etc., then install "Oktoprep" in Tweak 111 category, then you can UPGRADE (not restore) to 1.1.2, then you need to run 1.1.2 jailbreak application (java). Then you need a special version of anysim in order to unlock it.

Fredrick - I just re-read your post above...
I want to upgrade to 1.1.1 as you have stated..
So the steps I need to take (to do this) are:

1. Install jailbreak
2. Install Oktoprep
3. THEN upgrade to 1.1.1 (using i-tunes ??)
